MUDBRICK ARRANGEMENTS
PROCESS
This exploration uses the knowledge about materials I gained from my first exploration. Dirt, water and dried grass sourced from my backyard have been combined to make several mudbricks in two different sizes.

Experimenting with the two forms I composed different arrangements and structures testing the capabilities of the mudbricks. This process resembles a modular approach as identical small modules have been moved, rotated and stacked to construct a larger configuration.

The mudbricks weren’t secured in place, they purely relied on balance to hold the form of the structures. Testing the fragility of the structures reinforced the notion that joints are integral to establishing strength and stability. The joints are what hold the structure together and enable it to remain as one.
“the idea that the world consists of a conglomeration of models carries a liberating potential as it makes the renegotiation of our surroundings possible”
